Boiled Shrimp

6 servings


2 Bags of Zatarain's Seafood Boil
5 lbs Medium or Large Shrimp
1 Large boiling pot
3 Quarts of water
5 Tbs of Salt
4 Tbs of Fresh ground pepper
6 Tbs of Granulated garlic
5 tsp of Cayenne pepper
Lemon wedges


1. Add 2 bags of Zatarain's Seafood boil to the water.

2. Quarter 1 Lemon and throw it in the pot.

3. Add more cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic, etc... to taste.

4. Get the water and ingredients to a "roiling" boil.

5. Add 2.5 lbs of Shrimp and let the water return to a boil.

6. Boil for 2 minutes and remove pot from the burner.

7. Let the Shrimp set in the pot for 3 - 5 additional minutes and then dip them out of the pot.

8. Bring pot to a "roiling" boil again and start cooking your 2nd batch of shrimp.

Note: Slightly undercook the first batch of Shrimp. After the 2nd batch of Shrimp are finished, add the first batch back into the pot. Then add ice to the pot to chill the contents. Leave in pot with ice for 1 or more hours. For spicy Shrimp, place pot in the refrigerator and keep chilled overnight.
